Stapleton, Underwood and Musgraves win big at CMA Awards

Chris Stapleton who won three Awards, Carrie Underwood, Kasey Musgraves and Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban are the big Winners of the 52nd CMA Awards.

Chris Stapleton won three out of his five nominations including Single and Song of The Year (Broken Halos) and managed to extend his his perfect streak for Male Vocalist of the Year to four consecutive wins! But his Album From A Room: Volume 2 was beaten by Kacey Musgraves’ Golden Hour making her the frst woman in vier years to win. And Keith Urban took away the most prestigious Entertainer of the Year Award.

Carrie Underwood who hosted the show at Nashvilles Bridgestone Arena for the 11th time and revealed that her second child will be a boy was once more Awared as Female Vocalist of the Year, whilst Thomas Rgett took a way the gong for Best Video. Other big winnenrs at the 52 Annual Country Music Association Awards are Brothers Osborne (Vocal Duo), Old Dominion (Vocal Group) and Luke Combs who was awarded as New Artist of the Year.

The three-hour event included performances by Jason Aldean with Miranda Lambert (Drowns the Whiskey), Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line with Bebe Rexha, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban,Midland overing Eastbound and Down from Smokey and the Bandit , Dan + Shay who it up a Piano to Tequila, Old Dominion, Chris Stapleton collaboratng with Maren Morris and Mavis Satples on Friendship/I’ll Take You There, Pistol Annies and Garth Brooks debuting Stronger Than Me, a tune dedicated to wife Trisha Yearwood.

In his acceptance speech for Song of the Year for Broken Halos with Chris Stapleton Mike Henderson’s summed it all up “I would like to thank my wife, my children and my lucky stars, because I get to live in Nashville, Tenn., where all this cool stuff happens.”
